A Brief History of HEEG

The group was established in 2004 by SEEDA. Christina Hartshorn, Head of Leadership and Entrepreneurship, SEEDA, and Dr Tiziana Boyland, Knowledge Transfer Liaison Manager, SEEDA, played key roles in this process and continue to provide strong support.

Since December 2006, the network has been managed directly by the group. The network's activities are informed and guided by the Steering Group, composed of representatives from HEIs and partners from around the region. HEEG continues to be supported and funded by SEEDA, and makes a contribution to SEEDA's Regional Economisc Strategy (RES).

HEEG Objectives
  • To create alignments of all HEI staff who work in the broad area of entrepreneurship.
  • To provide opportunities to exchange experiences with world class entrepreneurship scholars and practitioners.
  • To develop an effective partnership for entrepreneurship with public and private business support organisations in the region, thus raising the entrepreneurs' potential.
